Drinking water engineer

As a Mechanic within Operations & Management (O&B), you will carry out work on our client's drinking water network: you will install connections, repair faults and work on the maintenance of the pipes. the water network must of course be available to our customers 24/7!
You will also take part in the breakdown service: they have different shifts with a lot of flexibility in return for a solid compensation. This allows you to ensure a pleasant work-life balance.
Your job as a Mechanic with our client is different every day: you get to know from the planning on your laptop what you are going to do today and where you are going, you come into contact with customers, with employees of the contractor and of course with colleagues you meet along the way.
Besides the varied and challenging work, there is plenty of room for professional and personal development.
Together with 45 other mechanics, the planners, area managers, employees and team leaders, you are team Rijnmond! We have divided the area into three regions and you will soon know where to find every hydrant and valve in your area. You are our calling card in the region!
- You will maintain and protect the existing pipeline network.
- You provide information to residents about the work.
- You carry out work such as discharging water (sluicing) and disinfecting pipes.
- You report on the work you have done and take care of your administration via your laptop.
Do you have:
- a mbo 3 training 1st mechanic distribution gas, water and heat?
- Some work experience in a technical sector?
- The passion to contribute to providing clean drinking water?
- A driving licence B and do you live in our catchment area?
- A great sense of responsibility?
And are you:
- Service-oriented and reliable?
- someone who can work well together?
- Eager to learn and take initiative?
- Willing to work in the breakdown service?
- Handy with ICT tools such as laptops and apps on your phone?
- You will be classified in scale 5 of the collective labour agreement for water companies. The maximum gross monthly salary in scale 5 based on a 40-hour working week is €3,651 per month.
- In addition, you will receive around 15% in a monthly flexible benefits budget. In scale 5, this is a maximum of €548. You can use it to buy extra holidays, have it paid out as salary every month or save it up and have it paid out all at once; the choice is yours!
- You will have your own equipped van.
- You will receive an allowance for breakdown services (average gross €300) and for the hours you are called up. Mutual exchange is permitted and you can also work more shifts (within the Working Hours Act).
- And good to know: on the evening/night shift, you are free during the day!
- Per month net €61.90 for coffee money.
