Substation Mechanic
HTM is the public transport company of and for the Hague region. HTM has always been firmly rooted in The Hague society and is a familiar face in the region with its trams, light-rail vehicles and buses. With more than 2,000 employees, we provide an important part of collective passenger transport by rail and road in The Hague and its region.
As a substation engineer, you play a crucial role in the reliable functioning of our energy supply. You ensure that the electricity that comes in at 10 kV via the energy supplier is converted safely and efficiently to 600/750 volts in our substations. You carry out maintenance and inspection work according to established protocols. In doing so, you work with technical installations such as large transformers, fast switches, rectifiers and current monitoring systems. Thanks to your expertise, these installations will remain in top condition.
In case of malfunctions reported by central traffic control, you take action. Together with your colleague, you solve them quickly and safely to ensure the continuity of the energy supply. Safety always comes first: that is why you always work as part of a team in the substations.
In time, you will have the opportunity to grow into the role of Work Supervisor, where you will bear more responsibility for the execution and safety of the work.
- You have completed a MBO 3 or 4 course in electrical engineering, installation engineering or mechatronics;
- You have at least 2 years' experience in a similar position;
- You are in possession of driving licence B;
- You have excellent verbal and written skills;
- You are not colour-blind;
- Breakdown and standby shifts are part of your job.
If you have also completed (some of) the training courses below, this is an absolute advantage:
- EV engineering;
- VHP/ LWB (tram safety person/ workplace safety leader);
- Qualified person NEN-3140 and NEN-3840
- Skilled person OS/SS 1500V;
- VCA;
- Driving licence C.
Participation in a night shift is part of the procedure.
Scale 6 ( € 3,402 - € 4,495) or scale 7 ( € 3,659 - € 4,972) on the basis of demonstrable experience and education.
